When Ali Acosta reached out to me on Instagram, I could tell right away that her brand had heart. As a Lafayette fiber artist, she creates beautiful, handmade pieces with time, intention, and care—so we made sure her brand session reflected that same energy.
During our planning process, we talked through the story behind her business, the role her cats play in her business (spoiler: one of them makes a guest appearance!), and the kinds of visuals that would help her connect with her audience. We kept things cozy, personal, and full of character, just like Ali’s work.
Ali is a fiber artist and the creative force behind Ali Acosta Crafts, a handmade knit + crochet business based in Lafayette, Indiana. From the sweetest stuffies to whimsical decor, her work is a celebration of color, texture, and creative expression. Every item is made by hand with care from the comfort of her home (complete with the occasional cat photobomber). Ali’s passion lies in helping people add warmth, personality, and a little bit of magic to their lives through art that feels truly personal.
Ali’s wanted her fiber artist brand photos reflect the care, creativity, and quirky charm at the heart of her business. We focused on creating images that would showcase her one-of-a-kind pieces, and also let her clients see the joy and intention behind every project. After reviewing her brand assessment and diving into her goals, we built a shot list full of cozy textures, playful moments, and tools of her trade—from yarn and patterns to a curious cat. We chose to shoot in her home, where she feels most inspired, and highlighted the parts of her process that make her brand truly personal. The end result? A session that captured her magic stitch by stitch.
Hands down it has to be Barney (one of Ali’s cats) attacking a gorgeous crochet shoulder bag in the middle of me taking a picture of it! He was so funny and sweet and he had an obsession with my camera, so I was able to get several great images of him! But if I’m being honest, I loved every moment of this fiber artist brand session because it was so true to who Ali is as an artist and small business owner. She was in her element: caffeinated, surround by her cats, and doing what she loved in the comfort of her home.
