If ever there was a champion for women-owned businesses in Lafayette, Indiana, it would be Carrington Sheller of Skin by Carrington. When she first started her business as a solo esthetician, Carrington reached out to fellow female business owners in Lafayette to connect with them and share about her services. I had never had a facial before, but she was so sweet and welcoming that I immediately scheduled an appointment with her. Now here we are, a few short months later, sharing this esthetician mini brand photoshoot thanks to her reaching out to connect with me!

Carrington’s main focus is to help you feel comfortable in your skin. Whether you struggle with acne or wrinkles, she has a solution and encouragement for you. She focuses on facial treatments and is passionate about creating a calming experience from start to finish. She’s always learning more about her craft and expanding her service menu to better serve her clients!

Planning a Mini Photoshoot for an Esthetician

A mini photoshoot is realllly short. Like 20 mins…okay 30 because I have no restraint. Carrington’s space is located in a building downtown that has excellent natural light, so I grabbed my backdrop and set up in front of a giant window. She brought out a tray of her favorite products she wanted to highlight and we got started! It was a lot to accomplish in a short window of time, but considering that I delivered more than double the number of photos she was expecting, I think we did okay!

My Favorite Part of This Esthetician Mini Brand Photoshoot

Carrington’s knowledge about skincare is vast. I loved being able to chat with her about the different products she was highlighting, how they help her clients, and why she loves them so much. Plus, we talked about her upcoming nuptials! As a recovering wedding photographer I love getting to talk weddings with brides–I definitely miss the creative event planning part of weddings!

This esthetician mini brand photoshoot for Skin by Carrington was a fun challenge. Wanting to stick to our timeline while ensuring that Carrington got all the images she needed until her longer session in the spring was a big task!
